Am glad to see an Irish news channel in the mix. Reckon it’ll be carried even if Onevision lose. Same with RTE. Just pitches for the muxes to say otherwise.
Bubble Hits am not suprised. This was in the pipeline from last year. So I’d expect it on Irish DTT defo. Suprised they didn’t get onto the trial. Maybe the could ask one of the channels like setanta to drop a channel so they could go up? Question is will it be fta or behind the sub wall.
I think for now the consortiums are thinking, sub as much as possible. But inevitably things will start going the Channel 4 (Film4) way and like BBC and they will be prepared to pay be FTA to get more ad revenue. It depends on adoption of the tiers. The simplicity of Onevisions’s proposals seems ideal. I think the other two are complicating for consumers.
